The Association for Canadian Studies in the United States (ACSUS) will host its 27th biennial conference, November 13-16, 2025, in Seattle, WA. The conference is open to all proposals with a significant Canadian focus. We welcome papers and panel proposals from students, professors, independent scholars, and practitioners on all diverse and critical perspectives related to the theme, “Canada: Spaces of Change.”

EMERGING SCHOLARS COLLOQUIUM
ACSUS is once again also inviting proposals from students at the undergraduate and graduate level to be part of our Emerging Scholars Colloquium. Emerging scholars accepted to the colloquium will receive guaranteed funding up to a maximum of $1,000 USD to help alleviate conference registration and travel costs.

SCHEDULE AND FEES
The conference proposal schedule and registration fees, which includes a required 2-year ACSUS membership valued at $120 USD, are as follows:
- The final date to submit a conference proposal is February 1, 2025
- Confirmations will be sent out to participants by April 1, 2025
- For individuals who stay at the Hyatt at Olive 8, the early conference registration fee is $359 before August 1, 2025. To receive this discounted members’ registration rate, individuals must first make a hotel reservation with the Hyatt at Olive 8. At the time of on-line registration for the conference, you will need to enter your assigned hotel confirmation number to secure the reduced registration rate.
- For individuals who stay at the Hyatt at Olive 8 and who register after August 1, 2025, the registration fee is $399
- For individuals who opt to stay at a non-conference hotel, registration fees are $459
- For individuals residing in the greater Seattle region, registration fees are $359 before August 1, 2025, and $399 after August 1, 2025
- A one-day registration fee is available at $150 for non-members. Accepted presenters who register at the one-day rate will be also required to purchase an ACSUS membership at the appropriate fee.
- Registration for undergraduate and graduate students is sharply discounted at a rate of $125, which includes a 2-year ACSUS membership.
- For individuals who are retired and stay at the Hyatt at Olive 8, the registration fees are $299 before August 1, 2025, and $339 after August 1, 2025. For retirees who do not stay at the conference hotel, the registration rate is $399.
NOTE: All registration fees and room rates listed above are in USD. All presenters must register for the conference by September 21, 2025; individuals not registered by this date will not be listed in the printed and on-line conference program.
Conference registration refunds will be honored until October 3, 2025.
