Instructors of courses that have substantial Canadian and/or Canadian-American content, please take note of the 2019 "Crossing Borders" student conference to be held at Niagara University, Niagara Falls, NY on March 1st-2nd, 2019. This multidisciplinary conference, which has been an annual event since the mid-1990s, features presentations of research papers by undergradaute, graduate, and professional school students.
Sara Capen, executive director of the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area, will be the keynote speaker at the meeting, and will give a talk tentatively entitled: “Forging Cross-Border Cultural History Relationships.” For further information on Ms. Capen see: http://www.discoverniagara.org/ and https://www.niagara.edu/hospitality-and-tourism-faculty/faculty/524.
The official 'call for proposals' can be accessed by clicking below. We hope that instructors would encourage students who are interested in Canada and Canadian-American affairs and/or border issues to participate. Questions and requests for further information should be directed to the conference organizer, Dr. Shannon Risk, of the History Department at Niagara University (srisk@niagara.edu).
