ACSUS Membership

ACSUS has approximately 500 individual and institutional members from the United States, Canada, and other countries. The majority of members are university and college professors; other individual members are from the fields of law, business, and government. Institutional members include libraries, publishers, government departments, and professional groups.

Membership is open to anyone interested in Canadian studies or scholarly activity on Canada upon payment of the biennial dues.

Memberships are for two calendar years. Memberships taken out any time during 2024 will expire December 31st, 2025.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

INDIVIDUAL

Any person may become an Individual Member of the Association upon payment of the biennial dues. Individual members are entitled to vote and nominate candidates for ACSUS elections. Individuals are also eligible for ACSUS awards and recognitions. One of the main benefits for members is access to the quarterly peer-reviewed journal, the American Review of Canadian Studies.

STUDENT

Any graduate or undergraduate student actively pursuing a degree may become a Student Member, for a maximum of seven years, by paying the biennial dues designated for this category. Students are requested to submit a dated copy of a current student ID.

CONTRIBUTING

Any person may become a Contributing Member by paying the designated biennial dues for an individual membership plus a designated supplement which will be recognized as a charitable contribution to the Association.

LIFE

Any person may become a Life Member exempt from the payment of biennial dues by paying the designated Life Membership dues.

INSTITUTIONAL

Any institution, such as a library, may become an Institutional Member by paying the biennial dues designated for this category.
